Question: How can I convert knitted fabric from meters to kg?
If ABCD pvt. Ltd. ordered me to make 1300 meters fabric with 250gsm and 68″ width then how can I convert it into kg ?
As per the requirement if you are converting meter to kg,then you need to follow some information with the few parameters
- Fabric width
- Fabric GSM
- Fabric length that you want to convert in kg
Use the below formula to know the approximate weight of the fabric roll.
Weight (in gram) = Fabric length (in meter) X fabric width (in meter) X Fabric GSM
In the example:
- Fabric width = 68 inch convert it into meters = (72 * 2.54) /100 =1.72 meters
- Fabric GSM = 250 grams
- Fabric length is 1300 meters
Use above formula to find the result
Weight (in gram) = 1300 X 1.72 X 250 = 559,000 grams
Convert weight into Kg dividing it by 1000.
Therefore fabric weight will be 559 Kgs
